Eminent Chinese socialites attended a 3D2N private event at Marina Bay Sands, with a special appearance by David Beckham.

From 5–7 December 2015, Marina Bay Sands played host to a group of 24 elite trendsetters, socialites and business leaders from Shanghai and Beijing, in an exclusive private event titled Beyond Expectations

The guest list included fashion label founder and designer Chloe Chen, executive vice chairman of Tomson Group Limited Charles Tong, renowned contemporary sculptor Qu Guang Ci, ballerina and art producer Qiu Siting, and award-winning author and entrepreneur Trevor Lai.

The VIP guests were flown in for a personally curated tour of Marina Bay Sands, Asia’s leading destination for dining, shopping, fashion, entertainment, accommodation and attractions – check out the highlights of their custom-made experience!

After settling into their hotel rooms and enjoying welcome refreshments at Adrift, the VIPs who opted for the pre-event styling service got their in-suite hair and makeup done by Dior and Salon 360°. They were then escorted by personal assistants to the MasterCard Theatres to attend the Silver Screen Awards at the Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF).

At the red carpet of the star-studded event, guests rubbed shoulders with celebrities including actor Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire) and Singaporean director Eric Khoo (Mee Pok Man and SGIFF featured film In the Room).

After the awards ceremony, the prestigious SGIFF Benefit Dinner was held at db Bistro and Oyster Bar, where French Celebrity Chef Daniel Boulud arrived with action star and Cinema Legend Award recipient Michelle Yeoh.

The star of the night was David Beckham, who fronts the Never Settle campaign in collaboration with Marina Bay Sands. The suited up 40-year-old star was his usual debonair self, making his appearance to rousing cheers on the red carpet, and mingling with guests and film industry celebrities at the SGIFF Benefit Dinner.

The VIPs began the second day of their luxury tour at the iconic Louis Vuitton Island Maison, floating in the waters of Marina Bay within a stunning Crystal Pavilion. Louis Vuitton representatives demonstrated the art of personalising leather pieces via hot stamping, which guests had a hand at trying.

Later, some guests opted for pampering treatment at Banyan Tree Spa, or indulged in infinity pool time on their reserved beds on the SkyPark. Others shopped at boutiques such as Chanel, Hermès, Yves Saint Laurent, and Cartier, all located at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.

As evening approached, David Beckham made another special appearance at the ArtScience Museum lobby, where the ticketing counter had been temporarily tranformed into a bar manned by an official mixologist from Haig Club, David Beckham's own whisky label.

Within the sweeping architecture of ArtScience Museum, the VIPs mingled and sipped on #haigclub cocktails while enjoying butler-served canapés and glittering views of Marina Bay. Entertainment was provided by noted Singaporean actress Jacqueline Chow, the emcee for the Beyond Expectations event.

Following the cocktail session, David Beckham accompanied the VIPs to the much-raved-about Waku Ghin restaurant, 2014 winner of Singapore Tatler's Hall of Fame Award for Best Restaurants in Singapore. Celebrity Chef owner Tetsuya Wakuda made a personal appearance to welcome the guests.

Following pre-dinner champagne at Waku Ghin's luxe lounge bar, the guests were lead to private dining rooms where they were treated to a gastronomic surprise – a 10-course degustation menu served by their own personal chef, who prepared each signature dish right in front of them.

On the final day, guests had brunch at Spago, Celebrity Chef Wolfgang Puck's second restaurant at Marina Bay Sands. As the VIPs dined amid gorgeous views of the Singapore skyline at the Sands SkyPark rooftop, they were farewelled by Marina Bay Sands’ Senior Vice President of Marketing, Maunik Thacker, and Vice President of Food and Beverage, Tamir Shanel.

With that, guests had free time to enjoy over 800,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space on the luxurious premises, before heading to the airport in possession of exclusive farewell gifts and enduring memories of their time in Singapore.
