The World of Studio Ghibli Shop

Level 3, ArtScience Museum*

The World of Studio Ghibli ends with a retail store on Level 3 that offers a wide variety of official merchandise.

*Visitors will need to purchase The World of Studio Ghibli exhibition tickets to access the retail store on Level 3.

In-gallery Activities

Take a moment to reflect and engage with three in-gallery activities designed to capture the reflective spirit of Studio Ghibli films. Express your creativity by drawing Soot Sprites featured in Spirited Away, pen down heartfelt messages inspired by the letter exchanges in My Neighbour Totoro, and make your own thaumatrope to understand the persistence of vision.

These activities are developed by the Education Team at ArtScience Museum for The World of Studio Ghibli exhibition.

What You Will Need:
Prepare your mobile device and earphones or earbuds before you enter the exhibition space at Basement 2.

Connecting to Free Wi-Fi:
You can connect to free Wi-Fi throughout ArtScience Museum.

Go to your device's Wi-Fi settings and select the network: Marina Bay Sands. It will lead you to a webpage where you will need to click “Connect” to access the free Wi-Fi.

How to Begin:
Scan the QR codes found in each gallery to access the audio trail. The trail continues at Level 3.

As each gallery features iconic soundtracks from Studio Ghibli’s films, we recommend that as well as listening to the audio trail you take a moment to listen to the music in the galleries to fully embrace the atmosphere of the exhibition.

Imagination Takes Flight — The World of Studio Ghibli Opening Talk

Featuring Studio Ghibli’s Atsushi Okui (Director of Digital Imaging) and Shinsuke Nonaka (Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs), the exhibition opening programme offers a rare and intimate understanding of the creative and technical brilliance of the revered Japanese animation house.

吉卜力工作室在全球獲獎無數，廣獲影評人的贊賞與肯定。2002 年，《神隱少女》獲頒第 52 屆柏林國際電影節金熊獎，以及同年的第 75 屆奧斯卡金像獎最佳動畫長片獎。2001 年 10 月，工作室連同德間紀念動畫文化基金會，建立了三鷹之森吉蔔力美術館，並由宮崎駿擔任建築設計師。《風起》(2013)、《輝耀姬物語》(2013)、《回憶中的瑪妮》(2014) 和《紅烏龜：小島物語》(2016) 也讓工作室連續四屆蟬聯奧斯卡金像獎最佳動畫長片獎提名。2020 年，《安雅與魔女》入選第 73 屆坎城影展的官方片單中。2023 年 7 月 14 日在日本上映的最新影片《蒼鷺與少年》榮獲第 81 屆金球獎、第 77 屆英國電影學院獎及第 96 屆奧斯卡金像獎的殊榮。工作室也在第 77 屆坎城影展獲頒榮譽金棕櫚獎。
