ABOUT THE PRUDENTIAL EYE AWARDS

Awards Ceremony
19 January 2016
Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands

The Prudential Eye Awards highlights the breadth, range and diversity of art works made by emerging artists from across Greater Asia.

Following the breakthrough success of 2015's overall winner, Japanese collective Chim↑Pom, the 2016 edition features a total of 15 shortlisted artists divided into five categories, based on these mediums: Digital/video, installation, painting, photography and sculpture.

The winners of each of these categories will receive USD 20,000 and a specially commissioned trophy. Out of these winners, judges will also choose an overall Best Emerging Artist winner, who will be awarded the prize money of USD $30,000. He or she will also get a solo exhibition at START, Saatchi Gallery in London.

The ceremony will also feature four special awards. These are the Best Asian Contemporary Art Institution, Best Exhibition of Asian Contemporary Art, the Lifetime Achievement Award for Asian Contemporary Art and the Award for Visual and Popular Culture. For the first time, the first two of these awards have been decided by public voting on the Prudential Eye Awards website.

Tickets for the awards ceremony will be available soon.
